Students enrolled in the popular Health Occupations program develop specific skills in areas of nursing and medical assisting.  Students work toward meeting both classroom and clinical requirements to be eligible for a wide variety of state and/or national certification testing.  

The Certified Nurse Assistant component focuses on the care of the resident or patient in an in-patient setting.  Students sit for the Massachusetts Nurse Aide Certification exam in their Junior year of the program.

The Medical Assistant component of the program focuses on clinical procedures needed to work in an out-patient setting: such as a doctor’s office. Students meet the requirements for sitting for the National Health Career Association Clinical Medical Assistant certification exam.

Finally, the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) component of the program focuses on ideas and concepts related to emergency care of patients and victims.  This coursework is presented in the students' Senior year, conjuntion with Mount Wachusett Community College, enabling students to earn up to eight (8) college credits at no charge.  Monty Tech Health Occupations students are eligible to sit for the Emergency Medical Technician certification exam upon successful completion of the coursework, at no charge.
