Students in Monty Tech's Electrical program gain the basic skills necessary to become an electrician, as they learn residential, commercial, and industrial wiring in accordance with the Massachusets Electrical Code.  Students entering the electrical trade begin with lessons in how to read technical drawings and blueprints, and advance to topics that include power and distribution of electricity, motors and motor controls, and low voltage wiring.  Completing small jobs in and around the school during the students' Sophomore year prepares them for the larger jobs they are assigned during their Junior and Senior year of study.  Upon graduation from the program, Monty Tech Electrical students will have completed 120 classroom hours and approximately 2,000 hours of electrical work experience, which qualifies them for advanced standing in the state's four-year electrcial apprenticeship progam.
