• Advanced Manufacturing

  • Students in Monty Tech's Advanced Manufacturing program learn a variety of skills by studying blueprints and drawings, and by applying math and science to operate engine lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, EDM (Electrical Discharge Machine) and CNC machines (Computer Numerical Control). Our students learn Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Machining (CAM) software, enabling them to expertly create machine tools with more precise dimensions and material consistency.  The Monty Tech Advanced Manufacturing program recently benefitted from a generous Skills Capital grant, providing funding for updated equipment, tools, and a new Metrology Lab.  As a result, students now work and learn in a state-of-the-art machine shop, and may earn a number of industry-recognized credentials to demonstrate their technical capacity.
