game definitions

Alliance: a set of three FIRST Robotics Competition teams that work together during a match to play Rack 'n' Roll against an opposing alliance. Alliances are identified during the match by their assigned color, which is either red or blue.

Robot: anything that has passed the robot inspection that a team places on the field before the start of the match.

Driver: a pre-college student team member that is responsible for operating and controlling the robot. There are two drivers per team.

Autonomous period: a 15 second period in the game where robots operate on their own with a set of pre-programmed instructions.

Teleoperated period: the 2:15 match where drivers take over the control of the robot, and try to score as many points as possible.
